"Wars are fuelled by the quest for natural resources and power issues, and result in tremendous environmental and natural destruction. Meanwhile, thousands and thousands of families are suffering, women are being raped and children lose their parents.

Victims of war are not only those who are killed on the field, but also their relatives who die of grief and trauma. Victims of war are also those who are affected by mines, radiation from depleted uranium and chemical and biological weapons. The effects of these atrocities will last for generations to come, causing children yet unborn to suffer.

We know there are alternative ways to resolve conflicts and that there is never a cause to justify terrorism, armed conflict or war. These are three different faces of the same evil. Aggression will never be stopped by aggression. Violence begets violence. We ask for equal influence for women in questions of peace and security, for example through the creation of a Women's Security Council and increasing the number of women in the UN Security Council to 60%."

"Caiff rhyfeloedd eu bwydo gan gyrchoedd am adnoddau naturiol a grym, a'r canlyniad yw dinistr naturiol ac amgylcheddol anferth. Yn y cyfamser mae miloedd ar filoedd o deuluoedd yn dioddef, caiff menywod eu treisio ac mae plant yn colli eu rhieni.

Nid y rhai a leddir ar faes y gād yw'r unig ddioddefwyr rhyfel, ond mae eu teuluoedd hefyd yn marw oherwydd y galar a'r trawma. Dioddefwyr rhyfel hefyd yw'r rhai a gaiff eu heffeithio gan ffrwydron gosod, ymbelydredd o iwraniwm diffygiol yn ogystal ag arfau cemegol a biolegol. Bydd effeithiau'r erchyllterau yn parhau am genedlaethau i ddod gan achosi dioddefaint i blant sydd heb eu geni eto.

Gwyddom bod ffyrdd amgen o ddatrys y gwrthdaro ac nad oes fyth achos i gyfiawnhau terfysgaeth, gwrthdaro arfog na rhyfel. Dyma dri wyneb gwahanol yr un drwg. Chaiff ymosodiad byth ei atal gan ymosodiad arall. Mae trais yn cenhedlu trais. Gofynwn am ddylanwad cyfartal menywod mewn materion heddwch a diogelwch, er enghraifft trwy greu Cyngor Diogelwch Menywod a chynyddu'r nifer o fenywod yng Nghyngor Diogelwch y Cenhedloedd Unedig i 60%."
